formerly H.S.L. 256

Puffin is a steam powered, ex admiralty Harbour Service Launch, built in 1919. She was one of hundreds of H.S.L.'s used for all manner of dockyard duties, such as ferrying naval personnel and supplies around.

Since 1950 she has passed through a succession of  private owners of which I am the latest, having bought her in 2005.

She is unusual in that she has survived complete with her original steam machinery and she is the oldest of the 2  steam powered H.S.L.'s known to have survived.

Puffin is currently ashore, undergoing a major restoration.
